After having its season two world premiere at SXSW, Blindspotting is now airing on Starz. After marrying Miles, Ashley now has to deal with marriage and co-parenting someone who is behind bars, while dealing while living with his family in Oakland. A celebration of the city, this season includes a cameo from Too $hort.

I talked to co-creator Rafael Casal, who plays Miles, about what Sean’s Jim Henson lion/bear hybrid puppet, Fisley, represents and how the absence of a parent for Earl and Sean bonds them together.

I talked to Jasmine Cephas Jones, who plays Ashley, about how her character is dealing with life post-wedding and how she approaches the spoken word scenes.

Jaylen Barron, who plays Trish, talks about Trish’s evolution (and finally wearing pants), Trish’s relationships with Ashely and Jackie, and her facial expressions.

I talked to Helen Hunt, who plays Rainey, about how she’s just like her character, Rainey’s and Ashley’s relationship, and her spoken word performance.

Benjamin Earl Turner, who plays Earl, talks about Earl’s relationship with Janelle and Sean, learning more about Earl’s backstory, his spoken word performances, and working with his Day 1 friends.

I talked to Candace Nicholas-Lippman, who plays Janelle, about learning more about Janelle’s past and life in Bali this season, doing martial arts, and what would Janelle’s spoken-word performance be about.
