Our Son, the film directed and co-written by Bill Oliver starring Luke Evans and Billy Porter, is about a couple of 13 years divorcing and each parent trying to get custody of their seven-year-old son.

I talked to Bill Oliver about creating a different type of queer love story, how they didn’t make Luke Evans or Billy Porter a bad parent, and how his own experiences influenced the film.

Our Son is in theatres December 8th and on VOD December 15th.
