Manadrome explores how toxic masculinity can actually be. When soon-to-be dad Ralphie joins a men’s club, whose rules include celibacy and chant about being men being Gods, he sees how far he will go to prove and protect his idea of masculinity. The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg, Adrien Brody, and Odessa Young.
I talked Manadrome’s writer and director John Trengove about Jessie’s body transformation for the role, extreme masculinity, and researching and creating this type of men’s group for the film.
Manadrome is in theatres on November 10th.
