Little Wing, the new Paramount + movie starring Brooklynn Prince and Brian Cox is based on the New Yorker article written by Susan Orlean about a teen in Boston who has to rehouse her racing pigeons once she moves. While the movie and article have major differences, the essence of what it means to be home is explored.

Starring in LITTLE WING are Brian Cox (Succession) as Jaan, the pigeon racer; Kelly Reilly (Yellowstone) as Maddie, Kaitlyn’s mom; Brooklynn Prince (Cocaine Bear) as Kaitlyn; and Che Tafari (Me Time) as Adam, Kaitlyn’s classmate and friend.

I talked to the Little Wing movie writer Josh Gatins, and Susan Orlean, who wrote the article the movie is based on, about having Kaitlyn being different than Sedona, the teen from the article, if Susan always felt the story could be a movie, and unique hobbies that they had.

Little Wing is now streaming on Paramount +.
