“Roller Jam” is a reality competition between skate crews. Each week skate crews dance and roll to music from a different decade, showcasing their skills. The teams compete to win a $150,000 cash prize and a $10,000 donation to their local rink.

Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum singer/songwriter and actress Jordin Sparks will host, with two-time U.S. Olympian and national figure skating champion Johnny Weir and roller-skating legend Terrell Ferguson serving as judges. Each week there is a new guest host, including Pepa from Salt and Pepa, Michelle Williams, Maureen McCormick, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Debbie Gibson and Joanna Gaines.

I talked to Jordin Sparks, Johnny Weir, and Terrell Ferguson about what was their favorite decade to celebrate, what are Johnny and Terell’s favorite songs to skate to, how Jordin would love to see a skate routine to “No Air,” and if Terrell really is the toughest judge.

Roller Jam is now streaming, with new episodes premiering on Thursdays on max.
