“Silent Notes” is about Bruce, a deaf man who is trying to earn money to get a cochlear implant. It’s not covered by insurance and he doesn’t make enough at his job, But he’s willing to do anything to get his hearing back, including working for the mob. Along the way, he falls in love with Ethan, and starts to reconsider what is important to him.

I talked to Daniel Durant, who plays Bruce, Matt Riker, who plays Ethan, and writer and director Toni Comas about why the film is set over a month period, their favorite scene to shoot, Ethan and Bruce’s love story, and what they think happened to the characters after the movie.

“Silent Notes” will have its world premiere at the Austin Film Festival and will be showing at these times at locations:
