The Pitt, the medical drama that take place during one 15-hour shift, features several residents and medical students on their first day in the emergency room. This includes Dennis Whitaker, a fourth year medical student who has one of his patients die early on in his shift.

The Pitt stars Noah Wyle (Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch), Tracey Ifeachor (Dr. Collins), Patrick Ball (Dr. Langdon), Supriya Ganesh (Dr. Mohan), Fiona Dourif (Dr. McKay), Taylor Dearden (Dr. King), Isa Briones (Dr. Santos), Gerran Howell (Whitaker), Shabana Azeez (Javadi), Katherine LaNasa (Dana Evans).

I talked to Gerran Howell about what went through Whitaker’s head when he lost a patient and if its fair to expect him to get over it so quickly, if we should worry about Whitaker running out of scrubs and what exactly are the bodily fluids made of that keeps getting on him.

The Pitt is now streaming on max, with new episodes on Thursdays.
