[Interview] King of the Hill’s Saladin K. Patterson on Why Dale Doesn’t Know About Affair & Keith David’s Brian

After 15 years, King of the Hill is back with season 14. After selling propane (and propane accessories) in Saudi Arabia, Hank Hill is back and retired in Arlen, Texas. But the United States isn’t how he left it, and Hank and Peggy are having a hard time adjusted to modern times and retirement. Bobby is now a 21-year-old restaurant owner living in Dallas that still has a thing for Connie.

I talked to King of the Hill’s showrunner Saladin K. Patterson about his barbershop (or loctician) alter ego, Keith David’s character Brian Robinson and what it was like to add a new character to the alley, how Hank has always been in the middle politically and how the show has always been about Texas culture, not politics, and if Dale would be open to an ethical non-monogamous relationship with Nancy.

King of The Hill is now streaming on Hulu.
