Ashley Nicole Black is becoming a main-stay at the ATX TV Festival. She spoke on two panels in 2024 (“The Future of Late-Night Comedy” and “Bodies of Work”) and judged the “The Pitch” competition. At the 2025 festival, Black was apart of the “SHRINKING: Inside the Writers Room” panel and her own panel “How to Do It All with Ashley Nicole Black”.

I talked to Ashley Nicole Black about her whole career, from stopping her doctorate program at Northwestern to pursue comedy, working on late night shows like Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and The Amber Ruffin Show, to being apart of the Black Lady Sketch Show to eventually writing Bill Lawrence show’s Ted Lasso and acting and writing on Lawrence’s shows Bad Monkey and Shrinking.
