In Wonder Man, the latest Marvel TV series, young Simon skips school with his father and sees Wonder Man in theatres. That fateful day, which is told in flashbacks throughout the series, tells a lot about Simon and what motivates him to keep going in this tough career.

I talked to Bechir Sylvain, who plays Simon’s father, Sanford, about all things Wonder Man, including how Sanford inspired Simon and keeps him motivated, how he and Simon are similar in their acting process, the Haitian representative in the show, and what movie got him into acting.
