The Outsiders, the Tony-award winning musical based on the classic novel by S.E. Hinton and the Francis Ford Coopla film, is now playing at the Fisher Theatre.

Taking place in Tulsa Oklahoma in 1967, the musical tells the story of a group of teenagers, The Greasers, in a war against the rich kids from the other side of town, the Socs. After Ponyboy and his best friend Johnny make a drastic decision, everyone’s lives in change, with a tension at an all time high.

I talked to Corbin Drew Ross, who plays Sodapop Curtis, about why Sodpop isn’t as influenced by Dallas and the Greasers drama, doing choreography in the water, what happen to Sodapop after what we see in the play, and what the cast likes to do for fun.

The Outsiders is playing at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit from now until the March 15th. You can get tickets here.
