In Scarpetta, the crime television show based on the best-selling book series, Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Kay Scarpetta’s first case that she worked on with her partner, Pete Marino, in the 90s, comes back to haunt her in the present day.

Scarpetta stars Nicole Kidman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, Ariana DeBose, Rosy McEwen, Amanda Righetti, Jake Cannavale, and Hunter Parrish.

I talked to Jake Cannavale, who plays Young Pete Marino in the ’90s, about Pete’s “machismo” personality and if he just has that to protect himself, why Pete is so protective of Kay, and if he realizes he has feelings for her, what Pete thinks of Benton, and focusing on his own timeline.
