Harlan Coben’s Shelter is based on the Mickey Bolitar book series. Mickey is the nephew of Coben’s popular character Myron Bolitar. Mickey is a high school student, now living in his dad’s hometown after a tragic accident. He then is thrown into a mystery when fellow student Ashely goes missing. With the help of his new friends, Ema and Spoon, they uncover secrets about the town and Mickey’s family past.
I talked to Jaden Michael, who plays Mickey, Adrian Greensmith, who plays Spoon, and Abby Corrigan, who plays Ema, about their characters’ fast friendship, why they want to solve this mystery, and which book character they would love to play.
I talked to Constance Zimmer, who plays Mickey’s aunt Shira, about how this character is drastically different from what she usually plays, Shira’s relationship with Mickey and being thrust into this parental role, and dealing with her complicated past friendships and relationships.
