Smiling Friends has Adult Swim infused in its DNA. Surrelisim, trippy animation, and the shock value of “Did they really just do that?” send viewers on a crazy journey, all in 12 minutes or less.

Smiling Friends is a business that best friends Pim and Charlie work at. Their job is simple, make people smile. However, they find the clients to be very difficult, whether they’re extremely depressed or have valid points about the bleakness of life. Relentless optimist Pim will do anything to put a smile on someone’s face, while Charlie is there to collect a paycheck.

A stand-out episode is “A Silly Halloween Special” which highlights the horror of Halloween: finding a costume that isn’t problematic. “The Smiling Friends Go To Brazil” is a fun bonus episode that shows how difficult it can be to travel, especially with friends.

The Complete First Season comes with Audio Commentary and is available on Blu-Ray and DVD.
