The Bleacher, a short film that was showcased at SXSW during the Midnight Shorts Competition, takes place late at night at the laundromat. But when the patron known as “The Bleacher” tries to find her missing socks, we discover more than just where single socks end up.

I talked to Kate Micucci, the voice of “The Bleacher,” and directors, Adam Wilder and Nicole Daddona, about how visits to the laundry mat inspired this project, how Kate’s musical background informs her acting, and why they feel like this project will be a slow burn.
