After playing several shows at this year’s SXSW, Forest Claudette is gearing up to release their latest ET, Jupiter. The title comes from the idea that if women are from Venus and men are from Mars, where are non-binary people from. Forest, who identifies as non-binary, believes they are from Jupiter. Preceded by the singles “Kobe Beef” and “Gold,” the EP releases on May 3rd.

I talked to Forest about their time at SXSW, creating the Jupiter project, the pressure of representing Black and non-binary people, and working with family.

You can listen to Forest Claudette on Amazon Music and all other streaming services.
