Emperor of Ocean Park is centered around the Garland siblings: rebellious oldest brother Addison, the professor’s younger brother Talcott, and people-pleasing Mariah, who is still trying to win her father’s favor even in death. After hitting a tough spot in her career, she left the world of journalism to become a mother and wife, even though she said she would never become a lady who lunches. However, when she suspects foul play is involved in the death of her father, a spark is lit under her and we are starting to see the old Mariah again.

I talked to Tiffany Mack, who plays Mariah, about how she came up with Mariah’s vibe and how the bob plays a part, how Mariah is now living the life she said she never wanted, why she is still trying to please her father, and if her husband, Howard, can accept this new Mariah.

The Emperor of Ocean Park airs on Sundays on MGM+.
