Based on a True Story is back with its second season. Ava and Nathan are trying to live a normal life with their new baby, but it’s hard to quit true crime, especially when Ava’s sister Tory is dating an ex-serial killer.

I talked to executive producer Michael Costigan about what it was like to start with a “bloody clean slate” after Matt was revealed as the killer in season one, Nathan looking up to Matt this season, Ava trying to find her identity, and how Ava and Nathan’s relationship changes with parenthood.
