The Book of Mormon, the satrical musical from Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, and Robert Lopez (Avenue Q, Frozen, Coco) is back in Detroit! It follows missionaries who are sent to Uganda to convert the villagers to Mormonism. But they also have to deal with being ruled by a cruel General, who Elder Price and Elder Cunningham want to convert.
I talked to Dewight Braxton Jr, who plays the General, about his favorite songs, what he thinks is the funniest part of the show, what he likes to get in every city he visits, and how being from Detroit gives him a special edge in the industry.
The Book of Mormon is playing at the Fisher Theater in Detroit from now to April 6th. There is limited inventory on tickets, but you can get tickets that are available here.
