In season 4, episode 8 of Hacks, “Witch of the Week,” the Mayor of Las Vegas and Deborah’s Friend, Mayor Jo, is caught in a sex scandal after being caught having a threesome on a Zamboni at an ice rink. While Mayor Jo wants to leave office and go into hiding, Deborah wants her to make the laughs her own and bring her on the show.

Hacks stars Six-time Emmy® winner and Tony Award® nominee Jean Smart, three-time Emmy® nominee and Critics Choice Award winner Hannah Einbinder, three-time Emmy® winner Paul W. Downs, SAG Award® nominee Megan Stalter, Emmy® nominee Carl Clemons-Hopkins, SAG Award® nominee Mark Indelicato, and SAG Award® nominee Rose Abdoo return alongside Dan Bucatinsky, Helen Hunt, Tony Goldwyn, Kaitlin Olson, Jane Adams, Lauren Weedman, Christopher McDonald, Poppy Liu, Lorenza Izzo, Johnny Sibilly, Paul Felder, Polly Draper, Luenell, and Aristotle Athari. I talked to Lauren Weedman about if she has any rules when it comes to comedy, like how Deborah has a rule to not do jokes about friends, what would her reaction be if a politician got caught in a similar situation like Mayor Jo and if she as Mayor, what would be her first act. I also share my love for the shows she’s been on, like the Vh1’s “I Love…” Series and “Best Week Ever” and how Quinta Brunson’s love for the series led her to be on Abbott Elementary.

Hacks is streaming on max with new episodes on Thursdays.
