Paradise Records is the first film written and directed by rapper Logic. Taking place over the worst day of record store owner Cooper’s life, he must find a way to keep his record store open and keep his friends and cousin employed, all while dealing with the regular shenanigans of his friends, family, and neighbors. Things only get worse when he becomes a hostage to bank robbers.
Paradise Records had its world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival and stars Logic, Tramayne Hudson, Reed Northrup, Mary Elizabeth Kelly.
I talked to Tramayne Hudson, who plays T-Man, Reed Northrup, who plays Tables, and Mary Elizabeth Kelly, who plays Melanie, about the first album they bought, why their characters are suprised that Cooper is losing the shop, improvising lines, if it was hard to stay in character, cut scenes, and a possible sequel.
