Anthony E. Williams knows about tenacity, resilience, and that it’s never too late to pursue your dream. In his 30s, with no connections to the industry, he decided to pursue his passion in acting and started auditioning for roles. And when he wanted to create even more opportunities for himself, he created a TV pilot about his own life experience.

His television screen credits include “The Blacklist,” “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” “New Amsterdam,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “FBI,” “The Equalizer,”“Young Dylan,” and “Sistas”. On “Screamboat” and “Straw.”

I talked to Anthony about auditioning for Tyler Perry 26 times before finally booking a role with him and what drove him to keep auditioning, creating his own TV pilot F.A.M. based on his own experience having a blended family, balancing a copororate day job with acting life, working with Teyana Taylor twice, and what type of roles he would like to do next.

Straw is now streaming on Netflix.
