A factor that makes We Were Liars such a juicy show is that the drama between the adults is just as interesting as the conflict between the teens. Sisters Carrie, Penny, and Bess have lifelong trauma that carries into summer 16 and summer 17, and their kids are trying their best not to inherit their issues.

We Were Liars, the Prime TV series, had a sneak peek at the ATX TV Festival and its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

The series stars Emily Alyn Lind as Cadence Sinclair Eastman, Shubham Maheshwari as Gat Patil, Esther McGregor as Mirren Sinclair Sheffield, Joseph Zada as Johnny Sinclair Dennis; alongside Caitlin FitzGerald as Penny Sinclair, Mamie Gummer as Carrie Sinclair, Candice King as Bess Sinclair, Rahul Kohli as Ed Patil, and David Morse as Harris Sinclair.

I talked to Caitlin FitzGerald and Candice King about which sister they think is the most ruthless, if Harris really wanted his daughters to live up to their potential, or does he likes being able to control them more, and what it’s like to play flushed-out parents and women.

We Were Liars is now streaming on Prime Video on Amazon.
