On Revival, the new Syfy series based on the comic book series, some citizens come back from the dead in a small town in Wisconsin on what comes to be known as “Revival Day.” These revivalists are immune to injuries and have super strength. Blaine, a super religious tow-truck driver, believes these beings to be demonic and starts to grow a strong group of followers who believe in getting rid of the revivalists.

The series stars Melanie Scrofano, Romy Weltman, David James Elliott, and Andy McQueen. Recurring guest stars include Steven Ogg, Phil Brooks (CM Punk), Gia Sandhu, Katharine King So, Maia Jae, Nathan Dales, Mark Little, Glen Gould, Lara Jean Chorostecki, and Conrad Coates.

I spoke with Steven Ogg, who plays Blaine Abel, about Blaine’s cult-like following, why Blaine hates the revivalists, how Blaine and Sheriff Wayne Cypress share the same goal, and how Steven considers himself a character actor.

Revival airs Thursdays on Syfy.
