The Runarounds, the latest series from the team behind Outerbanks, is about The Runarounds, a band consisting of recent high school graduates that have the summer to make it big or they have to hit the grind of a “traditional life,” whether that’s joining the family business, going to college, or moving out on their own.

The Runarounds are playing a fictional version of themselves, but they are actually a real band. While they were originally created for the show, they actually write their own music, sing, play their own instruments, tour, and have been together since 2020.

The Runarounds stars William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, Jesse Golliher, Lilah Pate, Maximo Salas, Kelley Pereira, Marley Aliah, Mark Wystrach, Brooklyn Decker, Hayes MacArthur, and Shea Pritchard.

I talked to The Runarounds, Will Lipton, who plays Charlie Cooper, Zendé Murdock, who plays, Bez Willis, Axel Ellis, who plays Neil Crosby, who plays Jesse Golliher, who plays Wyatt Wsong, Jeremy Yun, who plays Topher Park and show creator Jonas Pate about their first impressions, how being in The Runarounds influenced their other musical projects, what fictional storyline would cause serious issues if it happened in the real group, and what they have planned for the fictitonal show and the real band.

The Runarounds is now streaming on Prime Video on Amazon.
