Back to the Future is celebrating its 40th anniversary. This iconic movie has inspired generations and remains groundbreaking even four decades later. The musical inspired by the film is now on its first national tour, featuring production design that makes you feel like you’re in the movie with a flying DeLorean and stunning LED screen projections that transport you through time.

I talked to Lucas Halluer, who plays Marty McFly, about doing this tour during the 40th anniversary of the movie, which things from the 80s that he loves, why he would love to star in a “Gremlins musical,” relating to Marty by going after his dreams, what the cast does in every city, and if he think he looks like Michael J. Fox. He also gives behind-the-scenes insight into the insane set production.
