In season two of House of David, we get to see a different side of David. No longer just a meager shepherd boy, he is now the leader of an army, a brave warrior who conquered Goliath. And while he might think he survived his toughest battle when it came to Goliath, he soon learns that standing up for what is important to him, even if that means going against the King, might be even tougher.

House of David stars Michael Iskander, Ali Suliman, Ayelet Zurer, Stephen Lang, Indy Lewis, Yali Topol Margalith, Ethan Kai, Sam Otto, Oded Fehr, Louis Ferreira, Davood Ghadami, Ashraf Barhom, Alexander Uloom, and Aury Alby.

I talked to Michael Iskander, who plays David, about David exploring his warrior side and why it is out of love for the people behind him and for God, not the love of violence. We also talked about training for the battle scenes, his relationship with Ethan Kai, who plays Jonathan. We also spoke about Mychal and David’s relationship and how this season explores whether their love can endure trials, tribulations, and self-doubt.
