In the TV pilot showing at SXSW, In My Blood, Jack, played by Percy Jackson’s Daniel Diemer, is a minor league baseball player trying to get into the major leagues. Facing pressure from his father, who was a major league player, he turns to performance enhancers, leading him down a road that he might not be able to come back from.

I talked to writer and director Alex Bendo about Jack’s relationship with his father, why he’s using performance enhancers, exploring the kids of athletes, and the pressure on them to follow in their parents’ footsteps, and what he would like to explore in a miniseries.
