M.I.A., the new crime show from Bill Dubuque, the creator of Ozark, is about Etta, a boat tour guide from the Florida Keys who loses her whole family after a drug delivery goes south. She decides to seek revenge and kill the 12 men who are responsible for the death of her family.

M.I.A. stars Shannon Gisela, Cary Elwes, Danay Garcia, Brittany Adebumola, Dylan Jackson, Alberto Guerra, Maurice Compte, Gerardo Celasco, and Marta Milans.

I talked to creator Bill Dubuque and the showrunner Karen Campbell about if the show would have the same energey if the main character was a male, why the show is focused on revenge and justice instead of Etta trying to be on the top of a cartel and if Etta would have been good at it, and if Etta, Stantley and Lovely would have been friends if they didn’t meet under these extreme cirumstances.

M.I.A. on is now streaming on Peacock.
