After a successful first season, The Paper cast came out to ATX TV Festival and had their own panel. Melvin Gregg, who plays ad salesman and journalist Detrick Moore also spoke on the Funny AF panel.

The Paper stars Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Tim Key, Ramona Young, Eric Rahill, Duane Shepard Sr., Alex Edelman, and Oscar Nuñez .

I talked to Melvin Gregg about why he chose to play Detrick, a character who is so different to his previous characters, advice he would give to Detrick, his feelings about the season one finale, and his thoughts on Nicole and Detrick’s relationships. We also talk about what it’s like filming a mockumenatry show, a genre he’s familiar with previous credits like American Vandal and Black AF.
