The Scout is about the day in the life of location scout Sofia and the people she encounters as she looks for shooting locations for a crime drama TV show. Disillusioned with her work, she’s trying to connect with people while also dodging reconnecting with friends in the past.

The film premiered at Tribeca in 2025.

The Scout stars Mimi Davila, Rutanya Alda, Max Rosen, Ikechukwu Ufomadu, Sarah Herrman, Alex Goldberg, Peter Mills Weiss, Jackson Devereux, Jesse Ruuttila, Lisa Haas and Otmara Marrero.

I talked to writer and director Paula González Nasser about location scouting her own movie, how Sofia gets in her own way when it comes to having healthy relationships, how its difficult to have adult relationships, and her experience shooting the movie in her apartment.
