Acapulco is back for season 3, and major changes are happening at Los Calinos, in the 80s and now. Young Maximo has finally been promoted and working with Don Pablo, but being the boss of his friend comes with challenges. He is finally with Julia, but he’s learning that living a fairy tale takes work. Present-day Maximo is finally facing his past, including his daughter, and Hugo is realizing that his uncle may not be the most reliable narrator.

Acapulco stars Eugenio Derbez, Enrique Arrizon, Fernando Carsa, Damián Alcázar, Camila Perez, Vanessa Bauche, Regina Reynoso, Raphael Alejandro, Jessica Collins, Rafael Cebrián, Regina Orozco and Carlos Corona, with recurring guest stars Jaime Camil (“Schmigadoon”) and Cristo Fernández (“Ted Lasso”) joining for season three.

I talked to Enrique Arrizon, who plays Young Maximo, about Julia and Maximo’s relationship and why she is his one true love, Young Maximo becoming more like present-day Maximo, what song he would love the pool band to cover, what he does to relax.

Acapulco season 3 premieres May 1st on Apple TV +.
