In 1993, children are entranced by an old VHS tape of the canceled TV show “Mr. Crocket’s World!” When these kids mysteriously go missing, we realize Mr. Crocket is emerging from the TV and taking them. However, a determined mother is desperate to get her son back. “Mr. Crocket” is based on the 2022 Hulu “Bite Size Halloween” short of the same name.

“Mr. Crocket” stars Jerrika Hinton, Elvis Nolasco, Ayden Gavin, Kristolyn Lloyd, and Alex Akpobome.

I talked to director and co-writer Brandon Espy and Elvis Nolasco, who plays Mr. Crocket, about crafting Mr. Crocket’s eerie laugh, his main motivation, what makes perfect pray for Mr. Crocket, why kids are so entranced by his show and the potential of a TV series based on the movie.
