Earlier this week, Chance the Rapper announced that he was having a meeting with Illinois Governor Rauner to talk about education, specifically Chicago Public Schools. Chicago Public School’s has been having budgetary issues for quite some time, but currently the school year will end 20 days early if the State of Illinois does not provide more funding.
After a cancellation due to severe weather, the meeting happened today. It didn’t go well, with Chance saying Gov. Rauner gave “vague answers.”

Chicago Public Schools and I did not lose today. Please don’t let that become the narrative. Monday morning I’ll have a plan.

No matter what your political party, education should not be a luxury, and CPS needs funding now.
